Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL)

Keratoconus Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL) with Epioxa is a minimally invasive treatment designed to strengthen the cornea and slow or stop the progression of keratoconus.

Epioxa is an epithelium-on corneal cross-linking treatment. Its prescribing information specifies treatment without removing the corneal epithelium. Cross-linking uses riboflavin and ultraviolet-A (UV-A) light to strengthen the cornea. Your ophthalmologist will explain the recommended treatment system, suitability, risks and follow-up for your eyes.

Read the Epioxa prescribing information.

Key benefit

CXL primarily prevents further worsening of keratoconus; it is not primarily intended to eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.
